Andre House
Donations, time, talent, and prayers help to serve the homeless and poor populations in the phoenix area. There are trips from Ascension to prepare and serve dinner to guests on the 3rd Tuesday and the 4th Thursday of each month.
Matthew Community
The Matthew Community is a group that meets on the first Monday of each month at 9:00 am. We follow in the footsteps of Christ with charitable action. (Matt. 25:35-36). We work to identify appropriate activities and causes, then communicate these to the parish and organize parish participation. Here are some of the projects we work on:
Arizona Brainfood – fill Weekender Bags to supply Fountain Hills students and other students who may not have food for the weekend.
MANA House – (Marine, Army, Navy, and Air Force) – a peer-supported organization for the homeless and formerly homeless veterans. We collect items that help the veterans get re-established into society.
Verdes Christmas Project – (VCCP)- Through this group we are able to support a number of different organizations that help those who need assistance providing Christmas gifts and household items for their families.
Quilt Raffle – We have raffled a handmade quilt made by a parishioner in the spring of 2019 and 2020. All proceeds go to MANA House.
If you would like to be a part of the Matthew Community, please call the Matthew Community phone numbers listed on the back of the monthly calendar, or contact the Church Office and leave your name and phone number.
