Altar Servers
Interested in Altar Serving?
To be an Altar Server is to join a very special group of people, who provide an important element to our communal celebration of liturgy. An Altar Server has an important role during Mass or other liturgical services. It is a privilege to be an altar server at Mass. Altar Servers assist the priest and help the church community worship. We invite you to join us and serve the special privilege of becoming an altar server in our church. Please respond to the call of God on your heart to serve your parish
Eucharistic Ministers
Volunteer to serve as an Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist. Here at Ascension, Eucharistic Ministers serve at masses or visit the sick, the elderly, and the homebound in hospitals, nursing homes, and private homes as needed. The ministry is open to women and men, age sixteen and above, who have been fully initiated.

Hospitality Ministry
Ushers and Greeters offer a warm, friendly greeting to those arriving for mass. You extend the Christian community’s hospitality to welcome all parishioners, visitors, and newcomers. In addition, you assist in seating people who have assembled, gather the weekly offering, facilitate the Communion procession, and other needs of the members of the assembly as the arise.
Lectors
Share the Word of God with the community by becoming a reader at the weekend liturgies. By prayerful preparation for this ministry, you can strive to engage the assembly in a living experience of the Word of God and of the presence of Christ in each celebration.

Cantors
Cantors lead the congregation through music during the mass and other services. If you sing in the pews, you can easily lead others in singing as well. Whether you realize it or not, through singing in the congregation, you are already leading those sitting or standing around you. Cantors also receive music and leadership training from the music director before mass, during rehearsal, or any other time as requested. All ages and experience levels are welcome.
