The Parish Pastoral Council is a faith-sharing body representing the parish community. The Pastoral Council is a consultative, advisory, and coordinating body to assist the pastor in decision making and visioning for the parish.
The Parish Pastoral Council is formed in response to the Second Vatican Council and Conon 536. Using a shared wisdom model of decision making, the Council develops, monitors and evaluates the pastor in policy development, fostering spirituality within the parish, communication between parish leadership and parishioners, and promoting communication and understanding among and between parish organizations, parishioners, the diocese, and the universal Church.
The Parish Finance Council in collaboration with the pastor develops, approves and oversees implementation of the parish budget. The Finance Council additionally advises the pastor on matters relative to the maintenance of the physical plant. The Finance Council receives monthly financial statements and meets at least quarterly to review the statements and the budget. A designated member of the Council reconciles monthly bank statements. In collaboration with the pastor, the Finance Council presents an annual report to the congregation in early November for the previous fiscal year ending June 30th.
